Conducted research under the direction of Dr. Lauren Ross.  The NSF Career Grant focuses on scientific explanation and the diversity of causal systems in scientific literature.

Conducted research under the direction of Dr. Lauren Ross.  The Seed Grant focuses on the causal nature of genes and the use of metaphor in genetics explanation.

Research Mentor, Summer Internship Program  

Each summer, high school students and undergraduates participate in research projects on ethical topics.  Mentors train the students in quantitative and qualitative research, including surveys, literature reviews, interviews, and interview transcription/analysis/coding.

Curriculum Developer, Project STEMulate                

This NSF-funded project is run through the Upward Bound program, which offers a college experience to low-income high school students.  Curriculum contribution includes an instructor manual for teachers, with lessons and activities in inductive logic, scientific explanation, deductive logic and Boolean algebra.

Instructional Designer, Rural Hawai‘i Online Course Development Program, funded by the Department of Labor

This grant-funded project allowed Hawai‘i Community College to offer accelerated online courses in Business Education to members of the island community living in rural areas.
